I just started playing the most recent patched steam version and already encountered a small number of bugs and glitches myself. As a result of researching them I found numerous claims, both good and bad across the net. I thought I'd make a thread for everyone to post any Glitches/Bugs they may have personally experienced, or link ones they've heard or read about. Having a place to reference known issues and possible solutions might help us entirely avoid, or at least be able to work around some of it.

First off, most importantly people are still crashing and losing saves, and the devs are aware and working on it, as we can tell by the warning on the main page:

So friendly reminder to everyone in the meantime -

Remember, Jesus helps those who help themselves.. :sneaky:💾
As I mentioned in the >thread about restoring lost saves<..
Your files are in >Users >*Your username* >AppData >Local >Pal >Saved >SaveGames >*Your random user numbers* > *More numbers*
You can get there slightly quicker by opening a file browser and typing %localappdata% into the navigation bar, or pressing win key and typing %appdata% and press enter, then just back out one level to go into local folder where it is.
I just backup the whole SaveGames folder periodically in place with 7zip, but you can copy and back it up however/wherever you prefer.

There seems to be a few severe issues and a fair bit of minor ones this update. I've found most of them reported by users in comments here >on the Palworld subreddit<, and also the >Steam patchnotes<.. Most notably- Lifmunk Effigies are supposed to be fixed but plenty of people claim it didn't seem to improve [I'd take those claims with a grain of salt until further notice]. Some players are saying capture rates are seemingly better in this version, others complain of the change not taking if you've already upgraded, and suspecting the issues might be permanently ingrained in their saves. A bunch of new bugs were introduced in this version update as well, including a few I've experienced firsthand- like pals getting stuck in place/ stuck in terrain unable to work/eat, and >Chillets Ice missiles not going anywhere when mounted<.

The most irritating and rampant one in this version other than save corruption issues is definitely Pals glitching out and not working, moving, or eating, and all getting sick and injured if as a result. It seems to happen more if you AFK farm, and it's happening at all times on dedicated servers if they are left out and active when you log off, and does not take long to wreak havoc. So, everyone beware of that if you play on dedicated servers, and try to remember to put them in the box before ending your sessions! Silver lining is they don't seem to outright die, they just get really messed up and inefficient/ sick, requiring costly amounts of resources to craft medicines and heal. I can't find where I saw it in reddit comments, but some users said better food you've cooked like Jam-filled Bun will help them keep sanity and not get sick, and if you build your base on flat ground they'll get stuck less or not at all. Haven't tested it yet but will try to soon.

>Asmongolds recent Palworld vid< seems to confirm most of those claims. Hopefully Pocketpair get it together quickly with a better patch next time! The game is really fun for an early access, and full of potential despite the pals getting stuck and needing micromanagement ATM! Too bad we can't tell steam what version to run in the beta menu.. Hopefully they will listen to requests and think to implement that in the near future! Seems like the previous update was a little more solid and this one might've been a little rushed before it was ready.

I've been enjoying it a lot since I started my playthrough recently. Played a bunch in solo and my collection and base is getting much bigger already. I just got the "20 kinds of Pals" Steam Achievement.

It's super fun and amusing, but also pretty buggy still (Hooray for early access culture, woohoo~) It makes me slightly paranoid to collect and use the effigies. Maybe I'll test them after a fresh backup I can restore. I'm wary enough of the save corruption issues to exit and back up my saves every time I make a fair amount of progress. So far I made enough trips back to camp that I could prevent most sick/injured Pals caused by them getting stuck glitched out. But I still had nearly a half dozen get sick/injured/depressed/ulcers even while watching like a hawk. Hopefully that'll change now that I know to give them better food than berries and to pick a better flat surface for a base next time.

The Pals have gotten stuck on the perimeter or on/in the hill pretty often if I hang around or stay away for too long. Putting them in the box and taking them out periodically resets it but that is getting tedious kind of fast. I hope they get a new patch out that actually address some of this soon. In the meantime, I'm wondering if my save would load on the lower versions you can get through >depotdownloader<, but that's a lot of work to have to remember "only play in offline mode" with the legit copy- when I could just use a pirated version and hotfix to v0.1.4.0 far quicker and easier.🏴‍☠️..

I had a glitch pop up on me last night and I wonder if anyone else ran into this. I had one of my Arsox craft some Ingots, and after he got done making the Ingots I couldn't pick them up despite having a open slot in my inventory. (Weight isn't an issue either since you can still carry items over your weight limit in your base now.) I had to quit the game and load my game back up and that fixed the issue. I know the game is in early access so small quirks are bound to pop up. Edit: Stickied the thread.

I couldn't pick them up despite having a open slot in my inventory.

Interesting. That is a weird one to look out for. I haven't encountered that yet, but I saw a similar one where the Cattiva tried to pick up some ore I had dropped to move other things from one chest to another faster [I recently learned you can use the grapple to do this faster while over encumbered!]. I had dropped it in a large stack, and they weren't able to pick up/ transport the items on the ground properly. It kept splitting the stacks, and dropping it in place twitching and glitching out struggling with it, rapidly switching which thing it was trying to carry. I had to go pick it up for the Pals so they could stop obsessing and get back to work!

I've noticed there's quite a few players falling through the ground and ending up out of bounds in the game. This seems to be a common bug, but I'm not sure which platform it's been happening on. Has anyone run into this glitch yet? I haven't managed to get out of bounds at all lol. I can imagine it might get frustrating if it keeps happening.

Should be fixed soon.I contacted one of the mods/devs for it.Hopefully, they answer.
